I've visited Argentina a few times – the first was in early 2020, as I drove through Patagonia, which encompasses the southern portion of Chile and Argentina. I saw the spectacular Perito Moreno Glacier, but was unable to visit perhaps the most beautiful mountain on Earth – Fitz Roy – because on the day I arrived, it was so cloudy I could barely see my hand in front of my face. Unfortunately, the forecast called for more of the same for the next week, and lacking the time to wait it out, I moved on. I returned to Argentina in late 2024, visiting perhaps the most beautiful waterfall on earth – Iguazu Falls – on the Brazil / Argentina border, and then returned to Fitz Roy and finally got the shots I wanted. Argentina never disappoints... except when the weather is disappointing.
