| I visited Mexico several times as a child, with my parents, but these were generally trips to beach resorts. In December of 2023, I was in southwest Arizona, with a month until my next art show, so I took this opportunity to go on a trip I'd been considering for years – a drive down Baja California (the peninsula that lies to the west of mainland Mexico), all the way to Cabo San Lucas. The trip took a bit over two weeks, during which I drove approximately 2,000 miles, got two flat tires, and saw some incredibly rugged desert landscapes, as well as beaches of all varieties. It was definitely a trip worth doing, but if I were to do it again, I think I'd prefer to have three weeks, in order to enjoy it at a more leisurely pace. |
