| After seeing photos of flamingos on a white sand beach online, I knew I wanted to see them in person, and hopefully get some nice photos. A quick bit of research informed me that this can be done on a small island off the shore of Aruba. Aruba itself is very small – one can drive from one end to the other in roughly an hour – so I gave myself less than a week to spend on this tiny, island nation in the summer of 2023. (Side note: I do not recommend visiting in the summer – it was HOT.) Although there are quite a few nice beaches on Aruba, the most memorable part, for me, was certainly spending time with the flamingos of Renaissance Island. |
