Path to Beauty
I often find myself in Texas in the spring, and during a good year for bluebonnets – the State Flower – Texas Hill country briefly becomes a place of spectacular beauty, with fields of blue, red, yellow, and green stretching as far as the eye can see. 2019 was a good year, and with a bit of patience, I found quite a few good spots to view and photograph these iconic flowers. I don't typically do too much research before visiting a location – I often prefer to figure it out as I go. But I'd seen photos of the bridge shown in this photo, and tried to discover the exact location. I wasn't able to find out where, exactly it was, but I was able to figure out the general area, and stumbled across it, more or less by accident, one evening when I was out shooting. The old bridge really adds something to this photo.
