I was camping in Yellowstone National Park, roughly two and a half hours from Oxbow Bend, on the night of September 20, 2016. I'd called Jackson's (the closest city to Grand Teton National Park) Chamber of Commerce, trying to figure out if the colors of the trees in the National Park were at their peak yet, because I didn't want to miss the one to three day window during which the aspen in the park are at their absolute best. They told me I'd better come as soon as possible, so I got up at 3:45 on the morning of the 21st in order to be at Oxbow Bend before sunrise. In my opinion, this photo may be the best landscape photo I've ever taken.
