I'd visited Glacier National Park, in northern Montana, many times prior to my Summer, 2022 visit. All these visits, however, had been limited to the “main” part of the Park – Going to the Sun Road, and the areas immediately around this spectacular drive. Because of increased visitation, Glacier instituted a “permits only” entrance policy for Going to the Sun Road, and the surrounding, most-popular portion of the park in 2021. Without a permit (I'm notoriously bad at planning far in advance), I decided to visit Two Medicine Lake, in southeast Glacier – one of the other parts of the park that does not require an entry permit. I camped practically on the shore of Two Medicine Lake, and snapped this photo, along with many other beautiful compositions of this lake, on a morning with an absolutely perfect sunrise. I truly don't know that I've ever gotten so many great photos in such a short time. There are a million options for composition here, and you'd be hard pressed to take a bad photo at a place like this with similar conditions. Available in the following sizes (Panorama B): 30x10, 36x12, 48x16, 60x20, 72x24, 90x30, 90x30 Triptych (3 x 30x30), 108x36, 108x36 Triptych (3 x 36x36), 120x40, 120x40 Triptych Triptych (3 x 40x40), 144x48 Triptych (3 x 48x48), 162x54 Triptych (3 x 54x54), 180x60 Triptych (3 x 60x60).

During a week between art shows in Wyoming and Montana, I decided to visit a place I'd never been before – Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area, less than a hundred miles east of Yellowstone National Park, on the Wyoming / Montana border. The scenery here was much more reminiscent of the American Southwest than what I think of when I visualize Wyoming or Montana. It was a refreshing change of pace, and the crowds here were minuscule compared to what I've come to expect in the more popular National Parks in this part of the country. This view is somewhat similar to Horseshoe Bend (in northern Arizona) or Dead Horse Point (eastern Utah), but what makes this viewpoint different is that on the left side of the photo, you can see that this bend takes place where two rivers (Porcupine Creek and Bighorn River) converge before continuing downstream as the Bighorn River. Oh, and there are wild horses all over this area! I attended an art show in Jackson, Wyoming, in June, 2022. The show happened to take place the week after the worst flooding Yellowstone National Park (an hour north) had experienced since people began tracking such things. Suffice to say, there was a lot of rain, and the skies were mostly to completely filled with clouds for the duration of my time there. Unable to get the bright and saturated sunset clouds that occupy so much of my typical photography, I shot this barn, in the Mormon Row portion of Grand Teton National Park, in these much more subdued conditions. It turns out this location is beautiful regardless of the weather! I was passing through Indiana in 2022, and stopped at Chain O Lakes State Park for a nice, relaxing place to camp. I didn't expect to get any great photos on my visit, but was pleasantly surprised by the simple beauty of the forest in this nice, quiet State Park. By 2022, I'd shot most of the big, famous photo locations throughout Utah. But there is so much beautiful public land in this spectacular state, that it would take a lifetime to see everything. I was driving through in the spring of 2022, and wanted to explore some less well-known locations. I'd seen photos online of “Zebra Slot,” and after some quick research, off I went, in the middle of the day, to check it out. Pro tip: landscapes generally look their best (or at least most dramatic) at sunrise and / or sunset, but canyons – and slot canyons especially – look best in the middle of the day. The scale of the canyon is a bit difficult to make out from this photo, but I'll say that I'm glad I am pretty thin. Getting to the end of the slot required me to turn sideways and shimmy along, scraping my tripod and cameras on the rock walls along the way. But it was all worth it, because I simply love the photos I got here. Available in the following sizes (Panorama A): 10x20, 12x24, 16x32, 20x40, 24x48, 30x60, 30x60 Triptych (3 x 30x20), 36x72, 36x72 Triptych (3 x 36x24), 40x80, 40x80 Triptych (3 x 40x27), 48x96, 48x96 Triptych (3 x 48x32).

I've visited Sarasota many times, but it took me until early 2022 to finally get a skyline photo. I've only visited Rhode Island once, and it was for the single purpose of photographing the Providence city skyline. This unfortunately means I don't really have much to say about either the state or the city. But I will say that the city skyline is actually very pretty, and it is at least in part due to the Providence River that flows directly through town. Cities are almost always more photogenic when a river can be included in the foreground, and this certainly held true for Providence. Boston from the Longfellow Bridge
I've spent very little time in Massachusetts (and New England, in general), but when a good friend moved there in 2021, it provided the inspiration for me to finally make it up to Boston. Coincidentally, ever since I started showing cityscape photos in 2019, the number one city request I've gotten is Boston. Why not kill two birds with one stone? I finally made it there in the fall of 2021, and really enjoyed it. I had a bit of difficulty finding the best place to photograph the entire city skyline, but after getting the more traditional shot of the city, and wanting another vantage point, I discovered a nice view from the newly-renovated Longfellow Bridge.
