The Blue Ridge Parkway runs for 469 miles from Shenandoah National Park in Virginia to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, in North Carolina. It's a beautiful drive on curvy mountain roads with a 45 mph speed limit, and seemingly endless spots to stop, hike, camp, and experience the Appalachians. At milepost 176.2 lies Mabry Mill, one of the more popular stops along the drive. Built in the early 1900s, it operated first as a blacksmith, then a sawmill, and then a gristmill. One of my favorite stops is at Duggers Creek. I stopped here for an afternoon in May, 2018, and I was one of very few visitors – I felt like I had the place to myself! Duggers Creek Falls, shown here, is a small (roughly ten feet high) waterfall in a highly unusual “canyon.” It's less than a half mile to get from the parking lot to these falls. If you find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and check this waterfall out! At 120 feet high, Mingo Falls, which is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, is one of the tallest in the southern Appalachians. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30, 24x36, 30x45.
