Colorado
I grew up in Colorado, and even lived in Denver for a short stint from 2006-2008, and yet, it took me until late 2018 to get a good photo of the beautiful city skyline. I took this photo on a fairly cold night in November, which helped to keep the air clear, and it was taken early enough in the evening that many of the office towers still had a fair number of interior lights on. The city has grown tremendously in the past couple decades, and it will be interesting to take another photo from the same location in another decade or so, and see how different the skyline looks then! Available in the following sizes (Panorama C): 30x10, 36x12, 48x16, 48x16 Triptych (3 x 16x16), 60x20, 60x20 Triptych (3 x 20x20), 72x24, 72x24 Triptych (3 x 24x24), 90x30, 90x30 Triptych (3 x 30x30), 108x36 Triptych (3 x 36x36), 126x42 Triptych (3 x 42x42), 144x48 Triptych (3 x 48x48).
Crystal Mill, near Marble, Colorado, is something of a Colorado icon. It isn't incredibly easy to reach, but one can do it in a four-wheel drive vehicle, or by walking a few miles along a 4WD road. You're never going to have this view to yourself, but it is worth checking out either way, if you can find the time to do so. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle A): 8x10, 11x14, 16x20, 20x24, 24x30, 30x40, 40x50, 48x60.
Cloudless skies are generally not what one looks for when taking landscape photos. There are exceptions to this rule, of course, and when a composition like this can be found, a cloudless sky can actually work to one's advantage. I took this photo shortly after the sun set behind me, since it allowed me to make part of the focus of this photograph on the spectrum of color in the twilight sky, ranging from pink up high, and blue, lower down on the horizon. This photo was taken near Crested Butte, Colorado, in mid-September as the aspen trees in the area were just beginning to turn yellow. Available in the following sizes (Panorama A): 20x10, 24x12, 32x16, 40x20, 48x24, 48x24 Triptych (3 x 16x24), 60x30, 60x30 Triptych (3 x 20x30), 72x36, 72x36 Triptych (3 x 24x36).
Colorado is a beautiful state, filled with huge mountains, beautiful lakes, and, of course, nearly endless aspen groves. I took this photo of a Forest Service road winding through one such grove near Crested Butte, Colorado, in the fall of 2018, just as many of the leaves in the area began to change from green to yellow. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30, 24x36, 30x45, 40x60, 48x72.
Somewhere around the middle of September, the aspen trees in the Rocky Mountains throughout Colorado begin to change color. Depending on the weather, the change from green to yellow to gone can take place throughout a couple weeks, or a couple days, if storms with strong enough wind come through. I took this photo in the middle of September, 2018, near Crested Butte, and zoomed in on a portion of the forest where nearly all the leaves were yellow, and backlit by the late-afternoon sun. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30, 60x40.

Depending on the weather, the change from green to yellow to gone can take place throughout a couple weeks, or a couple days, if storms with strong enough wind come through. I took this photo in the middle of September, 2018, near Crested Butte, when roughly half the aspen leaves in the surrounding forests were green, and half were yellow. I think the mixture of colors looks better than if all of the leaves were either green or yellow. The white trunks of the aspen trees really helps to offset the bright colors. Available in the following sizes (Panorama C): 30x10, 36x12, 48x16, 48x16 Triptych (3 x 16x16), 60x20, 60x20 Triptych (3 x 20x20), 72x24, 72x24 Triptych (3 x 24x24), 90x30, 90x30 Triptych (3 x 30x30), 108x36 Triptych (3 x 36x36), 126x42 Triptych (3 x 42x42), 144x48 Triptych (3 x 48x48).

I've spent quite a bit of time in Canada – known for moose – but to this day, I think portions of the Rocky Mountains remain the best spot I've found for seeing and photographing moose. I found this young bull moose while out photographing the aspen trees near Crested Butte in the fall. I spent an hour or so watching him wade through the meandering rivers and ponds in the area, and had a great time photographing him. Available in the following sizes (Panorama A): 20x10, 24x12, 32x16, 40x20, 48x24, 48x24 Triptych (3 x 16x24), 60x30, 60x30 Triptych (3 x 20x30).

Kebler Pass, which runs west from Crested Butte, Colorado, through Gunnison National Forest, is a (mostly) gravel road that, because of its elevation, is closed in the winters. Between late spring and fall, however, it is accessible by any vehicle, and allows those who are interested the opportunity to see some of Colorado's most beautiful aspen groves and mountain scenes. Although the road curves around through aspen groves, from time-to-time, it opens up and allows for views of the surrounding area. This is one such view. I'd noticed it earlier in the day, and figured it would be a good spot to return to at sunset. Seeing how well the lighting worked out, here, I'm glad I did so. Available in the following sizes (Panorama B): 30x12, 40x16, 50x20, 50x20 Triptych (3 x 17x20), 60x24, 60x24 Triptych (3 x 20x24), 75x30, 75x30 Triptych (3 x 25x30), 90x36, 90x36 Triptych (3 x 30x36).

Sometimes, the combination of clouds, sun angle, and leaves on the aspen trees give the incoming light a softer look than usual, and gives the forest an almost magical feel. Mount Sneffels and the East Dallas Valley at Sunrise
The drive to Mount Sneffels along Dallas Creek Road, somewhere between Ridgway and Telluride, is beautiful. Portions of the drive are in the forest, but there comes a point where a valley opens up in front of you, and allows for the spectacular view, seen here, of Mount Sneffels, and the borad valley in front of it. I took this photo at sunrise, in the middle of September, 2018, when the aspen were beginning to change colors. Available in the following sizes (Panorama B): 30x12, 40x16, 50x20, 50x20 Triptych (3 x 17x20), 60x24, 60x24 Triptych (3 x 20x24), 75x30, 75x30 Triptych (3 x 25x30), 90x36, 90x36 Triptych (3 x 30x36), 105x42 Triptych (3 x 35x42), 120x48 Triptych (3 x 40x48).
There's a lot to see along Independence Pass, outside of Aspen, Colorado. I drove across Independence Pass during the summer of 2018, en route to an art fair in Aspen, and made sure to give myself a bit of extra time for exploration and photography. I saw a sign for “The Grotto” during my drive, and decided to check it out. Having captured this photo, I'm certainly glad I took the time to explore! Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30, 60x40, 72x48.

I've driven over Independence Pass, on the way to Aspen, Colorado many times in my youth, but never stopped to get out and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area. I decided to give myself some extra time to shoot Independence Pass during the summer of 2018, en route to an art fair in Aspen, Colorado. I shot the area throughout the afternoon, and even enjoyed a spectacular sunset here, then decided to stick around a while longer. I shot this photo shortly after sunset, while the color of the sky was still nice and saturated, but while enough ambient light still existed to show detail in the foreground and mountains in the distance. Available in the following sizes (Panorama A): 20x10, 24x12, 32x16, 40x20, 48x24, 48x24 Triptych (3 x 16x24), 60x30, 60x30 Triptych (3 x 20x30), 72x36, 72x36 Triptych (3 x 24x36), 80x40, 80x40 Triptych (3 x 27x40), 96x48, 96x48 Triptych (3 x 32x48).
