Starting in 2018, every time I visited a new city, and had the opportunity to do so, I made it a point to try and photograph the city skyline. I took this photo in the spring of 2019, when two back-to-back Florida art shows gave me the opportunity to photograph some of the State's larger cities. This photo of Orlando was taken from the eastern shore of Lake Eola – which is actually a sinkhole! - and was famously gifted to the city by wealthy Orlando resident Jacob Summerlin, who stipulated that if the land weren't made and kept beautiful by the city, in order for all citizens to be able to enjoy it, the park could be retaken by his heirs. The fountain in the lake is one of many symbols of the City of Orlando.
