Mount Sneffels and the surrounding area, in southwest Colorado, is one of my favorite places for camping and photography. I was camping there in the late summer of 2022, hoping to get some nice photos of Sneffels, which unfortunately didn't really work out, and I found myself camping next to a whole bunch of bristle thistles, which I just learned is considered a noxious weed in Colorado! Quite a beautiful weed. It seemed that these thistles worked well to attract both honeybees and a bunch of butterflies, specifically aphrodite fritillaries, like the one shown here. They were everywhere! Available in the following sizes (Rectangle A): 10x8, 14x11, 20x16, 24x20, 30x24, 40x30.

I spent some time watching a group of mountain goats from Glacier National Park's Highline Trail during a summer 2020 trip. The flowers were in bloom, but the goats were mostly avoiding these multicolored meadows. But eventually my patience paid off, when this young goat left its mother's side and went for a wander through the flowers. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30.
There are a lot of fully-established trails in the area around Glacier National Park's Logan Pass Visitor Center, and there are also some that are less crowded, such as the path to Logan Creek Falls. When I visited in the summer of 2020, some of the trails were closed, and others were packed with tourists. In the middle of the day, I didn't feel like dealing with crowds, so I went on the less used path to Logan Creek Falls, and came upon this field of wildflowers along the way. Absolutely beautiful. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle A): 10x8, 14x11, 20x16, 24x20, 30x24, 40x30.
I drive along Interstate 70, through Colorado's Rocky Mountains, dozens of times every year, but it wasn't until 2020 that I discovered a popular trailhead probably half a mile from the interstate, near the mountain town of Silverthorne. A 3.5 mile round-trip hike takes one to Lily Pad Lake, appropriately named, since, at least when I was there, almost the entire surface of the lake was covered with lily pads, and because I was accidentally there at the right time of year, there were many blooming flowers growing in the lake as well. I had my telephoto lens with me in the hopes I'd be able to photograph some wildlife along the trail, but there was very little to be found. I made use of the long lens, though, in capturing this image of one of the yellow pond lilies that were too far away to capture with a normal lens. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30, 24x36, 30x45, 40x60.

SDMG (South Dakota Morning Glory)
I don't often go out looking for flowers to photograph, but I occasionally come across some while I have my macro lens and flash handy, and if the flower is pretty enough and the lighting good, I'll sometimes spend the time to get some macro photos. The use of a macro lens allowed me to make this flower look much larger than it actually is. This is a morning glory, and it was probably about the same size as a quarter. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30, 60x40.
Macro photography can be a lot of fun. Walking around with a macro lens makes one think about his or her surroundings in a different way. A leaf or pebble that might otherwise not catch ones attention can suddenly become the most interesting thing in the world. And flowers are always interesting, but they become even more so when viewed through a macro lens. Details one may otherwise never notice are suddenly huge. This flower was blooming on a cactus. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30, 60x40.
Who knew there were flamingos in Patagonia?! I sure didn't, so it came as a surprise when I saw these three beautiful birds at Lago Azul in Chile's Torres del Paine National Park. I remember thinking, “...this can't be real...” when I hit the shutter and got this shot. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30, 24x36, 30x45, 40x60, 48x72, 54x80, 60x90.
I took this photo on January 1, 2020, and remember thinking that if I were to post it online, I'd get bombarded with people saying it must be fake. And I would understand people thinking as much. As if the mountains in the back of the photo weren't enough, there's a field of multicolored lupines in the foreground so thick that it's almost impossible to see the leaves and grass underneath. C'mon?! How can this possibly exist? Well, it does, and it can be found in one of the most amazing places I've ever been – Torres del Paine National Park, in Chile. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30, 60x40, 72x48, 80x54.
There were many things about Patagonia that surprised me when I visited in late 2019 and early 2020. The two biggest surprises were (1) the wildlife photography opportunities, and (2) the abundance of wildflowers I saw. I got many photos of both. The flowers I most enjoyed photographing were lupine, but lupine was not the only type of flower to be found. This is a hillside just outside of Torres del Paine National Park that is awash in dandelions. Although dandelions may be common enough in many portions of North America to be readily ignored, I was unable to do so when I saw this field. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30, 60x40.

The two biggest surprises were (1) the wildlife photography opportunities, and (2) the abundance of wildflowers I saw, primarily lupine. I suppose if I'd done more research, neither of these would have come as much of a surprise, but that's honestly one of the things I love about arriving at a location with minimal knowledge of what to expect. I took this photo a day's drive north of Punta Arenas. By the time I found this lupine field, I'd seen several others, but this one was the densest I'd seen yet. I positioned my camera to take the photo in such a way that minimized the green, and made the entire focus of the photo the incredibly bright and detailed lupine. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle A): 8x10, 11x14, 16x20, 20x24, 24x30, 30x40, 40x50, 48x60.

Doesn't Get More Texas than This
Sure, there are plenty of bluebonnets in Texas. And there are plenty of longhorns. But finding them both, together? That's a challenge. Fortunately, sometimes a little luck goes a long way, as it did for me when I came upon this longhorn resting in a field of these iconic flowers. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30.
I often find myself in Texas in the spring, and during a good year for bluebonnets – the State Flower – Texas Hill country briefly becomes a place of spectacular beauty, with fields of blue, red, yellow, and green stretching as far as the eye can see. 2019 was a good year, and with a bit of patience, I found quite a few good spots to view and photograph fields of these iconic flowers. I don't typically do too much research before visiting a location – I often prefer to figure it out as I go. But I'd seen photos of the bridge shown in this photo, and tried to discover the exact location. I wasn't able to find out where, exactly it was, but I was able to figure out the general area, and stumbled across it, more or less by accident, one evening when I was out shooting. The old bridge really adds something to this photo. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30, 24x36, 30x45, 40x60, 48x72, 54x80, 60x90.

When I found some old railroad tracks that didn't appear to be in use any longer, I went for a bit of a hike, thinking the tracks might make some great leading lines, if only I could find something else to add to the photo. A bit of walking led to some of the densest bluebonnet growth I've yet found. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30, 24x36, 30x45, 40x60.
