It is a great place to camp, ride around on a motorcycle, eat good food at quaint restaurants, and enjoy the scenery. That's exactly what brought me to Cave Point, on the east side of Door County, in the late summer of 2022. I was there on a perfectly blue sky day, which isn't typically great for photography, but it was actually perfect for this photo, since the sky above made the blue waters of Lake Michigan somehow even more blue. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30, 24x36, 30x45, 40x60, 48x72.

Temperance River State Park, on the North Shore of Lake Superior, is a small but beautiful park along Lake Superior's north shore. Perhaps the highlight of the park is Temperance River Falls. I photographed these falls, but was surprised to see that my preferred photos were taken a couple hundred feet downstream, where the river enters Lake Superior. This photo, to me, epitomizes the subtle beauty of Lake Superior's North Shore. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30, 60x40, 72x48.
Horseshoe Bay, which lies about 20 miles southwest of the Canadian border on Minnesota 61, looks much like any number of small bays along the north shore of Lake Superior. The waves were small when I visited in the summer of 2021, but the water was not nearly still enough for me to get a mirror-like reflection. Lacking this option, I put a neutral density filter (basically sunglasses for a lens) on my camera, which allowed me to take a “long exposure” of the scene, which gives the water the somewhat “ghostly” look that can be seen in this photo. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30, 60x40, 72x48, 80x54, 90x60.
Chile is a long, thin country that has a lot of mountains, fjords, and lakes, at least in the southern half. Accordingly, some drives with endpoints only a dozen or so miles away (as the crow flies) can be hours or days long. Such is the case when driving north from Chile Chico. Fortunately, the scenery in the area is spectacular, and if one is not in a rush, it's an area worth enjoying at a leisurely pace. Most of the roads here are dirt, such as the one shown in this photo, which I took at the beginning of my drive north from Chile Chico. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30, 60x40, 72x48.
After leaving Torres del Paine, I spent a few days in Argentina before coming back into Chile via the funky little town of Chile Chico. It's small, but colorful, and far enough away from the major tourist draws to seem authentic, but touristy enough to mean tourist activities were available. On my next trip to Patagonia, I'm going to try to leave myself some more time to enjoy Chile Chico. In the limited time I had available, I was able to get this photo of part of the Chilean shoreline of General Carerra Lake, the largest lake in Chile. Interestingly, the Chile / Argentina border goes through the lake, splitting it roughly in half. If I'd panned a bit further to the right, some of the water shown would have been in Argentina. Available in the following sizes (Panorama B): 30x12, 40x16, 50x20, 60x24, 75x30, 75x30 Triptych (3 x 25x30), 90x36, 90x36 Triptych (3 x 30x36), 105x42, 105x42 Triptych (3 x 35x42), 120x48, 120x48 Triptych (3 x 40x48), 135x54 Triptych (3 x 45x54), 150x60 Triptych (3 x 50x60).
Chile's Torres del Paine National Park is home to a great deal of wildlife, glaciers, mountains, and lakes of every shade of blue. When one spots a lake in a shade of blue like this, it is usually safe to assume it is glacial melt. The grinding of glaciers on the rocks below erode the rock to an ultra-fine powder that ends up in the lagoons below many glaciers. It is this powder that causes these lakes to have such beautiful colors, such as in Mirador Cuernos, at the base of Torres del Paine. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle A): 8x10, 11x14, 16x20, 20x24, 24x30, 30x40, 40x50, 48x60.
I took this photo about as far south as I've ever traveled (at least as of mid-2020), on a three week trip to Patagonia. I picked up my rented camper van in Punta Arenas, which is the largest city south of the 46th parallel south, and instead of immediately beginning my journey north, I decided to take a one-night trip to the nearly-empty lands south of Punta Arenas. Although Google Maps shows the road from Punta Arenas going all the way south to San Isidro Lighthouse, it turned out that the road ends a couple miles before this, at a spot that is barely visible in this photo. Nightfall was getting close at this point, so I skipped the hike and instead wandered the area to photograph the area. I love the way this one turned out. It has a bit of everything: rocky shoreline with turbulent waters, a forest that nearly reaches the beach, and in the distance, snow-capped mountains fading away into nothingness. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30, 60x40, 72x48, 80x54, 90x60.
The Golden Gate Bridge has been shot to death, but this doesn't make it any less beautiful. I was lucky enough to be in the San Francisco area when there was a full moon, and I found a location from which I was able to capture the Golden Gate Bridge, downtown San Francisco, and the nearly full moon in a single frame. I couldn't have asked for better lighting than I got on the night I took this photo. Available in the following sizes (Panorama A): 20x10, 24x12, 32x16, 40x20, 48x24, 60x30, 60x30 Triptych (3 x 20x30), 72x36, 72x36 Triptych (3 x 24x36), 80x40, 80x40 Triptych (3 x 27x40), 96x48, 96x48 Triptych (3 x 32x48), 108x54, 108x54 Triptych (3 x 36x54), 120x60, 120x60 Triptych (3 x 40x60).
I spent a great deal of my December, 2018 photo trip to Hawai'i trying to get photos of palm trees, blue skies, and white sand beaches. But more violent ocean scenes with cliffs can be beautiful, too. I took this photo on the dramatic southern coast of the Big Island of Hawai'i. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30, 24x36, 30x45.

Bird's Eye view of the Napali Coast
Nope, I don't own a drone (as of early 2020). I took this photo looking down from a “door's off” helicopter on the Hawaiian island of Kaua'i. In less than an hour in one of these helicopter rides, you can circle the entire island, and see more than you could ever hope to remember. I wonder if the pilots ever get sick of their job...? Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30.
At the northern end of the Door County, Wisconsin peninsula (it's technically an island, but that's another story) lies Washington Island. Occupying less than 25 square miles, and home to less than a thousand year-round residents, it can be reached by taking a half-hour ferry ride from Northport, and is well worth a visit. One's experience is going to be hugely impacted by the weather. The day before I visited Washington Island, in August, 2018, the weather was awful. Fog everywhere. But the next day, when I went to Washington Island, the weather was perfect. This photo looks like it could have been taken in the Caribbean. But no, this is actually Lake Michigan from Washington Island. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30, 60x40, 72x48.

Rialto Beach, which lies in northwest Washington, within the boundaries of Olympic National Park, is one of those rare beaches that has both a sandy beach which could work for swimming, and seastacks, which provide some visual interest not present in a white sand, blue sky beach photo. I shot this photo from an elevated position, after climbing a fairly-treacherous cliff as the sun was setting. By the time I'd reached the spot from which I wanted to shoot, the sun was already below the horizon, but I wasn't particularly bothered by this, because I had an idea that the sky would so what it frequently does after sunset on an evening free of clouds – form a beautiful gradient of blue to purple right at the horizon. The sky did exactly what I'd hoped it would, and I used a wide-angle lens to capture the vastness of the driftwood-strewn beach. Look carefully and you might find a tent among the driftwood! Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30, 24x36, 30x45, 40x60, 48x72.

Indian Beach, in Ecola State Park, on Oregon's northern coast, was one of my favorite of Oregon's countless beaches. This may have had something to do with the fact that I arrived just as the sun was setting, so many of the families that had spent the day here were packing up, or had already left, at the time of my arrival. The combination of a nice sandy beach, with numerous rocky features just off the shore, and pine-covered hills descending directly into the Pacific Ocean was common all along Oregon's coast. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30.
