Read MoreI spent some time watching a group of mountain goats from Glacier National Park's Highline Trail during a summer 2020 trip. They wandered around for a bit, but eventually made their way out of the hot sun and onto some cliffsides, where most of them went to sleep. This one, though, kept wandering, and I kept my telephoto lens focused on him, in the hopes he might do something interesting. And my patience paid off, as I got this great series of shots of him jumping across a chasm that, had I tried to do the same thing, would probably have resulted in my death. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20, 36x24, 45x30, 60x40, 72x48.
This panorama of Los Angeles was taken in the early evening from Griffith Park. I took the photo to showcase the vastness of the urban landscape that contributes to the LA River during a project I worked on in 2016 - the LA River Trek. Available in the following sizes (Panorama C): 30x10, 36x12, 48x16, 60x20, 72x24, 90x30, 90x30 Triptych (3 x 30x30), 108x36, 108x36 Triptych (3 x 36x36), 120x40, 120x40 Triptych (3 x 40x40).
Red pandas are among my favorite animals on the planet. They are undoubtedly one of the cutest, and if you haven't ever seen them play before, I highly recommend you dedicate at least a few minutes to a Youtube search for “Red Panda,” or something similar. This is actually one of my earliest shots that I consider to be of high enough quality to justify putting on my site. Available in the following sizes (Square): 10x10, 12x12, 16x16.
Snow at Great Sand Dunes National Park
Colorado's Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve was only established as a National Park in 2004 – prior to that, it had been a National Monument. When I awoke in my tent, a stone's throw from the base of the dunes, I looked outside and was initially unhappy with the weather. I'd hoped to get some colorful sunrise shots, but what greeted me was the most dull, gray sky imaginable. I got up anyway, and went for a bit of a walk among the dunes. It had actually snowed a minuscule amount the night before, and this, in combination with the wind, made for some beautiful, if rather bleak sights. Although I converted this photo to black and white, the original, color shot is barely recognizable as being something other than black and white. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30.

I hiked to Munro Beach on an evening in April, 2008. I'd never heard or read anything about it being a pebble beach, as opposed to sand, but to my great surprise, that's exactly what awaited me, when I arrived a bit before sunset. The late day's sunlight reflected off the pebbles in a magical way, as shown here. I returned to Munro beach several months later, and the pebbles had been replaced with sand. I don't know how it was that I was lucky enough to be there when I was, but I am thankful for it. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20.
A friend and I took a water taxi from Marahau to Bark Bay, in New Zealand's Abel Tasman National Park, in April, 2008. Being dropped off at Bark Bay allows one to do a single day portion of the famous Abel Tasman Coast Track, and it was on this track that we spotted this beautiful, serene, beach-like peninsula that separated something of a lagoon from the Cook Strait. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle A): 8x10, 11x14, 16x20.
I lived in New Zealand for 7 months in 2008, and went on several of this beautiful country's renowned Great Treks, including the Greenstone-Caples trek, where I took this photo. You wouldn't guess it by looking at this photo, but less than an hour before I captured this image, I was walking through a blizzard. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16.
I don't know the name of this mountain, only that I took it in Mount Aspiring National Park. I know that it is not Mount Aspiring, though. The mountains on New Zealand's south island are beautiful, and the afternoon light created a perfect contrast of light and dark on this mountain. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 12x8, 18x12, 24x16, 30x20.
Milford Sound is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Occupying the southwest portion of New Zealand's South Island, it was judged in 2008 by TripAdvisor to be the world's top travel destination. With scenes like this, it's no wonder why. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30.
Lake Wakatipu, at 50 miles in length, is New Zealand's third longest lake, and covering roughly 112 square miles, it is the country's third largest lake. I lived in Queenstown, on its northeastern shore, for five months, and was able to appreciate the beauty of this lake on a daily basis. This shot was taken on the drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy. Available in the following sizes (Panorama A): 20x10, 24x12, 32x16, 40x20.
Traveling through Australia's enormous outback is a tremendous experience. I spent many nights camped on the side of roads just like this one, and felt like I had the entire country to myself. I shot this picture from the roof of the van I was living in, at the time. The clouds at sunrise and sunset in both the Northern Territory and Western Australia remain some of the most beautiful I've ever seen. Available in the following sizes (Panorama C): 30x10, 36x12, 48x16.
Western Australia's Karijini National Park is a bit difficult to get to, not least because of its remote location, in the far northwest of the country's enormous desert interior. It is something of an oasis, and water can be found running here year-round. Waterfalls and slot canyons abound – this shot was taken several hours into one of the many slot canyon treks available to visitors. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30, 24x36.
I drove a van across the northern half of Australia during the winter (Australia's winter, that is) of 2009 and arrived in Perth, not knowing ahead of time that I'd spend roughly seven months there. I loved Western Australia, and Perth, while honestly nothing special as far as metropolis' go, was in a great location with wonderful things to see and do in pretty much any direction. I took this photo of the city skyline from King's Park, where I occasionally camped in my van overnight. Shhh! Don't tell anyone! Available in the following sizes (Panorama C): 30x10, 36x12, 48x16, 60x20, 72x24.
I visited Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks in late September, 2009. There were several small forest fires happening while I was there, and the smoke made most views of the mountains quite dull. I was on the verge of calling the trip a complete disaster – photographically, at least – when I made it to the top of Signal Mountain, in Grand Teton National Park, which provides an overview of the valley below the Tetons. It was there, at sunset, that I captured this shot. The smoke from the forest fires had turned orange from the setting sun, and by zooming in on a particular area, I was able to capture this shot that looks like some layer of hell. Available in the following sizes (Rectangle B): 8x12, 12x18, 16x24, 20x30, 24x36.
Forest Fire Sunset at the Tetons
Several small forest fires plagued Grand Teton National Park in late September, 2009, when I took this photo. The smoke from these fires had made daytime shots of the majestic Teton Range dull, and I had nearly given up on getting any memorable shots on this particular day, when I decided to check out the view from Signal Mountain, above Jackson Lake, in the middle of this beautiful National Park. As the sun set, the skies seemed to ignite, and I walked away thrilled that I'd been able to capture the beauty of such a majestic and unique circumstance. Available in the following sizes (Panorama C): 30x10, 36x12, 48x16, 60x20, 72x24, 90x30, 90x30 Triptych (3 x 30x30).
Another example of Australia's beautiful southern coast. Situated in Western Australia's Cape Le Grand National Park, Hellfire Bay is absolutely gorgeous. The combination of white sand beaches (look closely at the upper left-hand side of the photo) and the orange-hued rocks that plunge into the deep blue waters of the Great Australian Bight makes for a composition that is hard to beat. I took this shot as the sun was getting low on the horizon, over my right shoulder – this accounts for the extra saturation of the rocks. Simply stunning! Available in the following sizes (Panorama C): 30x10, 36x12, 48x16, 60x20, 72x24, 90x30, 90x30 Triptych (3 x 30x30).
Few scenes are as iconic of Australia as Uluru – sometimes called Ayer's Rock. Sacred to the Aboriginal People who still live nearby, Uluru lies near the middle of Australia, and there really isn't much anywhere nearby. It is a bit of a task to get there, especially if one elects to do so by land, as I did during the Fall (Australia's fall, that is) of 2010. I was quite lucky with the colors while I was there. Typically, there is little to no green to be found, because the area is incredibly dry. I was quite lucky when I visited, as it had rained an unusually high amount in the weeks leading up to my arrival, thus the green leaves and grasses scattered around the enormous, orange rock that can be found on countless book covers and posters advertising Australia. Available in the following sizes (Panorama C): 30x12, 40x16, 50x20, 60x24, 75x30, 75x30 Triptych (3 x 25x30).
This is probably my favorite photo I took during the year and a half I lived in Australia. Many people have heard of Uluru (or Ayer's Rock, as it is sometimes called), but far fewer have heard of its sister formation, the Kata Tjuta, shown here. Personally, I think Kata Tjuta is even more beautiful than Uluru. I had to get up pretty early in order to be here for sunrise, but the sleep I lost was completely worth it. The amount of green on the trees in this photo is quite unusual – it had rained quite heavily in the weeks leading up to my arrival, which resulted in significantly more plant life than is typical of the region. Available in the following sizes (Panorama C): 30x10, 36x12, 48x16.
