On Top of Tasmania
There are several side-trips one can take while hiking Tasmania's spectacular Overland Track. One of those side-trips takes you to the top of Mt. Ossa, which, at 5,305 feet above sea level, is the highest point in Tasmania. The mountains in Tazzie (as the island is affectionately called by Australians) are generally flat on top, which allows the formation of beautifully reflective ponds at their peaks, such as those seen here.
