I went to the Audubon Society's Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in January, 2017, after having read an article about painted buntings – one of the most colorful birds in the United States. I hadn't really considered the fact that I might see some other, interesting wildlife while there. But lo and behold, I did just that. There was a family of raccoons that frequented the bird feeders set up to attract the painted buntings. They showed up and ate the seeds dropped by the birds. This young raccoon was especially cute.
