I love photographing sand. Perhaps because I don't have to think quite as much about composition when doing so as compared to a typical landscape. It is possible to go out to a beach, or some sand dunes, and just point your camera at a few things, and you'll likely walk away with some good shots. And while I typically keep my photos as realistic as I can, on this particular shot, I took some liberty with contrast. It's a bit more abstract than my typical work, but the patterns and simplicity are rather pleasing to the eye.
