One of my favorite places I visited in Jasper National Park, when I visited in 2012, was Medicine Lake. I returned there several times on my second trip to the Canadian Rockies, in the late summer of 2016, and it was at Medicine Lake that I took this photo of an unnamed mountain just to the east of the Lake. I'd count my timing quite lucky – the sun was setting over my shoulder, illuminating the top of the mountain with fantastic, orange light. But what really makes this image stand out, I feel, is the rain that is just beginning to obscure the mountains further back.
