Metate Arch is probably the most famous formation found inside Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, in south central Utah. I drove here in a small car, and worried the whole time about the possibility of getting stuck on the dirt roads. As you can see from the clouds, it looked like rain, and the unpaved road that leads here, which is fine in good weather, looked like it could quickly have turned treacherous. Fortunately, I made it out without any problems, and with some good memories and photos.
